Telfar Clemens Takes Top Honor At 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Event

Telfar Clemens took home the top honor at the 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event, held at Weylin, an event space in Brooklyn.

The Telfar designer beat out nine other hopeful finalists for the $400,000 prize. The Queens native launched his New York-based unisex line in 2005 which has been carried in a number of influential boutiques including Colette and Opening Ceremony.

The runners up, taking home $150,000 each, are Ahlem Manai Platt of eyewear brand Ahlem and Becca McCharen-Tran of inclusive ready-to-wear brand Chromat.

Originally from Detroit, Ashley has been a style curator and editor for over a decade, having lived in Washington DC and New York City before moving to West Hollywood in 2015. She has written for The Washington Post, Hollywood Life, Haute Living, Vanity Fair, International Business Times and Fashion Times.
