Sailor Brinkley Cook To Appear In Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

Like mother, like daughter!

Christie Brinkley’s daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, will grace the pages of the upcoming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. The 19-year-old joins the swimsuit 2018 rookie class, which already includes fellow models Chase Carter and Robin Holzken.

Cook is the first daughter of a famous Sports Illustrated model mom to be selected as an official SI swimsuit model. Her mother appeared in the magazine eight times between 1975-2004 and nabbed three consecutive covers from 1979-1981.

Brinkley helped break the news to her daughter by interrupting a fake interview at IMG headquarters in New York City.

She thinks she’s coming here today to do an interview for Fashion Week but she is in for the biggest surprise,” she excitedly told the camera before sneaking up on her daughter.

A surprised Cook couldn’t believe the news and even teared up as SI Swimsuit’s editor MJ Day handed her a swimsuit with her name on it.

‘I can’t even believe this is real,’ she said, adding that she thought she was doing an interview about her relationship with her mom.

‘You’re on your own now,’ the proud mom told her. ‘You’re out of my sandy footprints, and you are on your own!”
