Bust out the rainbows, it’s Pride Month!
The month of June was chosen for LGBTQ Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred in New York at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events including festivals, concerts and parades are held all over the country during this month to recognize the impact LGBTQ people have had in the world.
L.A. Pride kicks off June 5, culminating with the Pride Festival June 10 and 11 in West Hollywood Park. Headliners included Brandy, Chromeo, Erika Jayne and Aaron Carter. Also, in place of the annual Pride Parade is the #ResistMarch on Sunday.
